Re-Flux Medical is developing a novel peripheral blood flow monitor capable of detecting and tracking peripheral artery disease at every stage of the care continuum. This gives doctors and patients the information they need to know when intervention is necessary and what steps to take to prevent or reverse disease progression. Our goal is to make PAD diagnosis affordable, accessible, accurate, and fast for every patient, replacing the long wait times and costly contrast dyes of conventional diagnostics with a simple, patient-forward device built to save lives and limbs.
The Re-Flux EIT is a patent-pending electrical impedance tomography system that provides continuous, non-invasive, quantitative measurement of peripheral blood flow across the full cycle of care. Using a set of wearable electrode bands, the Re-Flux EIT delivers real-time hemodynamic monitoring with no surgical placement, no trained operator, and no clinic visit required — closing the monitoring gap that existing tools cannot.
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) affects an estimated 21 to 26 million Americans, or about 1 in 20 people. Roughly 150,000 amputations are performed each year as a result of PAD progression — about one every four minutes. This failure is not a failure of intervention, but of monitoring: no widely available device enables continuous, quantitative peripheral blood flow surveillance outside the clinic. This leaves pre-intervention patients without accessible, inclusive screening, and post-intervention patients in a surveillance void when complications arise — where loss of limb, and life, can follow.
